Lost and Laughing about it

Nothing shows a man's character more than what he laughs at.''

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
1749-1832, German Poet, Dramatist, Novelist

Well the PaperDreamers took a week off of construction and painting so we could reset ourselves.

Julia spent the week learning to play softball (remember she is from England and it is not the national sport ... tee hee), volunteering in the field of Recreational Therapy and learning about herself. Even attending a job interview (here's hoping she gets the job ... :-) )

Cynthia spent the week with the wildlife of Tofino / Ucluelet and brought her young wildlife with her (her three kids). Cynthia looked up the directions on Google Maps, which sent us to a B&B in Tofino .... and we actually were booked into a resort in Ucluelet (they are only 33kms away from each other .... Go Google maps). So after travelling the winding road twice we arrived at our resort at midnight .... with many giggles.

What a week the Dreamers have had and now it is Sunny and beautiful ... let's hope that we start carding and setting our calendars to fill with classes.

Keep folding the paper and ever so sweet dreams,

Draining the Swamp?

My neighbour told me a great quote today "sometimes you need to be butt deep in Alligators before you remember why it was that you wanted to drain the swamp"

That is certainly what the PaperDreamers felt like today whilst trying to "get the wallpaper borders off of the "swamp" ie: the craftroom". The alligators were thick and hungry as several times Julia had to be patient with Cynthia's choices. Even the redheaded youngest stated "she sure is patient with you Mom ... I think that makes her the "perfect business partner" for you".

The kids were dragged in on yet another of Mama's projects ... and redhead ended up overtired ... which Cynthia is sure that Julia was too. Well tomorrow is yet another day, and maybe Cynthia will figure out how to post a few pics ... (now where is that oldest child of mine ... tee hee).

Until then Fold that Paper and Sweet Dreams,

no worries

Don't worry about a thing, every little thing is gonna be alright.

Bob Marley

It has been awhile ... and Cynthia was beginning to worry.
Did the Paperdreamers take on more than the two of them could handle?

The floors are completed and the walls are about to painted .. it looks like big or small ... the project of the craft room renovation has truly begun.

Cynthia and Julia have new business cards, new catalogues and soon a new Craft Room. Come on in and join us for a celebration next month for our open house celebration ... to learn more about our open house, classes or our technique club ... just call or email us.

and hey if you need any references .... ask some of Cynthia's Book Club buddies ... they love the cards that we produce.

A series of small achievements

"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together".

Vincent Van Gogh
1853-1890, Dutch Painter

Cynthia is an impulse doer. She shops impulsively, renovates impulsively and even cleans impulsively (and boy does that impulse have to be strong for her to clean ... XD). Julia spends time thinking things through most of the time, and gives in to her impulses only occasionally. (tee hee)

Cynthia's kids came to the rescue yesterday and helped move her impulses along with a push. While M fed us, and kept us hydrated ... the rest of us ripped out carpet and underlay etc. and even took it all to the dump. Now they are trying to finish the rest of the cleaning in the living room.

The new Stampin Up catalogue arrived yesterday so the girls and Cynthia had to take a break to peruse it ... Julia called and The PaperDreamers discussed some of their future class and workshop ideas.

WOW ... you won't believe what they have in store for you. The catalogue is gorgeous but just you wait and see what they will do with the newest of products and tools. That "series of small things" are about to bring about "great things" in the world of Paper Crafting.

You can check out some of the new products at "www.stampinup.com"

Ancient Chinese Proverb

"A frog at the bottom of the well .... sees only part of the sky" is an Ancient Chinese Proverb

Cynthia feels like the Frog is now above the edges of the well and the sky is only Blue with white, fluffy clouds.

Thanks to the help of Julia, and various kids and teenagers .... the craft room renovations have finally got well underway.

The floor guy is due to arrive on Friday.

The room is empty ... the carpets have begun to be pulled up.

The basement is full but an organized kind of full, not like the Chaos it was 2 0r 3 years ago. Remember .... my favourite ladies.

Well we got it all to fit into the basement this time ... not out of the lawn in tents ... tee hee.

Our business can only benefit from all this hard work ... right ????

Being hit with the Tomatoes

Well Cynthia's father always told her "If you don't put your head above the crowd .. you won't get hit with the Tomatoes".

I hope the Tomatoes are all headed in our direction ... we have laid out some of our plans, got our ducks in a row, and the calendar is filling up.

Get ready for some great events in the next couple of months ... Classes, Clubs, Workshops, Open Houses and even a "Crafting Garage Sale" are coming up ... so keep your eyes on us.

Cheers,
Julia and Cynthia

A successful beginning

A long time ago ... I learned "How to eat an elephant" .... One Bite At A Time.
Why I would want to eat an elephant .... I am not sure of ... :-)

We took our first real bite last weekend and seem to be digesting it well.

PaperDreamers have been in the preparation stages for a while now and we finally decided to make it official ... we set up a facebook page, decided on our name, and began this blog.

Julia brings about 20 years of stamping experiences to the table and Cynthia (though still a newbie), brings her own kinds creativity. Together we bring to you the joy of Paper Crafting.

Join us anytime for a class or a club or even to check in on this blog .... at least the internet is open 24 hours a day.

Talk to you again soon,
Julia and Cynthia
